[roomate]
i think one of the thigns i was most nervous about coming to UIUC was my roomate. i've heard so many bad stories about how people got random roomates, and things turned out really badly. fortunately, that's not the case for me. my roomate is really really awesome. she's a lot of fun to talk to and hang out with and she's also very considerate. we're both pretty clean/organized so our room looks pretty awesome. i'm happy with it. she's in the architecture program which is cool because we both have interest in art... meaning she won't find my weird personal art projects to be kooky..... but rather, cool and hopefully she'll even join me. (ok, that sentence is very poorly structured). we both love Amelie, and in realizing this, we bought this awesome amelie poster to decorate our room. another awesomely awesome thing is that she loves listening to Nicole Nordeman... i find that sooo amazing. so we've been listening to her a lot =) this weekend she went to chicago to visit her friends and family and surprisingly, i miss her a lot. not that she's a hard person to miss... i'm just amazed that after only 5 days of knowing her, i've been able to like her so much to miss her presence. things are going good in RM 314 =)
[dorm]
as for my room, it's pretty cool. at first i was disappointed cuz it was smaller than i imagined, but with some decorating and such, i really realyl like it now. the size doesn't really matter to me anymore cuz we have more than enough room to do watever we want, and the people in our dorm are really friendly, which is not what i expected because i've heard crap about how people living in private dorms are very unsociable. thing are awesome here at armory house =)
[food]
one of the best things about my dorm is that it is noted for having the best food on campus. (along with hendrick house. our food is catered by them) i have not been eating a lot of snacks lately, so meals are very important and it's so rewarding to go into the cafe and eat ridiculously good food. MMMMMMM
[classes]
classes weren't as bad as i thought they'd be. probably because it's only been 3 days of classes. i've been doing well reading the material and keeping up with the work... and everything seems easy to understand. let's see if i say that in a few weeks =P my most interesting class is Rhet 105. the book we're using is really interesting, and (maybe cuz i'm fickle) it's changed my mindset on things. haha, how stupid do i sound? =P hopefully i'll be able to keep up with everything this semester and get some good grades to bring home =P
[church]
i'm still not so sure which church i wanna join. i've only been to CFC so far, but i wanna go visit some other churches to see what they do. CFC has made a pretty good impression on me, but maybe that's cuz everyone i kno goes there. just hoping that i find the right church for me.
please send me letters and packages. it makes me HAPPY =) and i'll write you back with cool stuff to give you.
