[JOYWOK! brought back the trucker hat: Al Gore invented the Internet]
so many people may think that Ashton Kutcher (Punk'd. What an OK show! =P) brought back the trucker hat, but i tell you, that for those who think that, they are WRONG. i recollect an event about... a year ago that proves that ellen, allison, stephanie, and myself wore trucker hats and thought we looked good. yes, we were the ones that brought it back. yes yes. i remember it quite vividly. it was at our "30-hr famine" project at Salvation Army when were given boxes of hats to choose from as a gift from the people working there. i remember that instead of the usual baseball caps that were given as an option, we dug and dug and dug through boxes of hats to find TRUCKER HATS. they were red, white and blue (how patriotic of us) and we enjoyed them to the fullest extent. i also remember that ashton kutcher did not wear a trucker hat at that time yet, so WE should get the credit. let's hear it girls. let's start a revolution cuz WE are trendsetters. (i'm crazy.. i'm going crazy)
hard-core Ting with her trucker hat sayin: "i started the trend yo. payce"
sweet lil Sheila wearing her trendy hat. (that's my new jars of clay trucker hat)
**My Jar-y Day**
yesterday was an AWESOME day. it started at 1:30AM when i happend to get the urge to look online for who won AVERAGE JOE that night on the season finale. this type of thing gets to me at 130 AM when i'm lying in bed trying to fall asleep =P. what keeps me on the comp is the fact that a BIO on the finalist
(Adam Mesh) which says that he graduated from Marlboro High School in 1993. Dumbfounded, i start lookin online to see if it was the same Marlboro High School i went to (yeah, it is. there is hope for us Marlboro Graduates to become millionaires in Manhattan) and *bling* pops up an IM from wayne askin if i wanted to go to the Jars Of Clay/Caedmon's Call Concert that was happenin that same day. "YES" i say. and that was the beginning to a v.g. day (oh, how bridget jones-esque of me).
then beginning of my day was a little bit crazy. i went to hand in my rhet paper early in the morning which took me the day before to do, then, after lots of studying for my math test and after takin it... i was relieved *whew*.. and went home to start
"Sheila's Jar-y day"
[Benefit Concert gone way too Personal]
so at around 2pm, i go online and start talking to jon hsieh, and he tells me that jars was going to have an AIDS benefit concert at 100 greg hall at 4:30 for free. i jump at the oppotunity, and decide to go at 4pm to get good seats. i showup and i'm the first one there.. which was strange to me cuz i thought it would be PACKED w/people eager to see'm. at 430, jars comes in and i look around to see only about 10 people sititng in the room. hehe, it was weird, but AWESOME. it turned out not to be a concert, but rather, they just talked about their Non-Profit Organization called "Blood: Water missions". it was really good to see them do something other than basting in their fame and fortune. Good to see that they were striving for other thigns as well that were not so "glamorous", but rather, realyl from the heart. they talked about it for about an hour.. and then for the next hour, we just got to hangout w/them and just.. i guess, chill! it was awesome. one of their fave bands is COLDPLAY, which roks. they were raving about them.. so cool. haha. i got their autograph, but no pictures because i felt kinda outta place to ask for it. i already felt really guilty asking for it.. because, afterall, our purpose for being there was because of their Aids organization. but.. yeah.. AWESOMENESS.
back of the shirt i made for them to sign
front of the shirt... plain stuff
yeah yeah
good stuff. the autographs
[Steven Delopoulos]
steven delopoulos was the opening for them. he used to be in this awesome band called "Burlap to Cashmere". they split up cuz of "creative differences". haha, anyway, he's from monmouth county! how cool is that? he was raving about new jersey and i was bouncin in my seat thinkin "YEAH! JERSEY ROKS!" his songs were all VERY good and he's so amazing on the guitar. i was blown away. how great.
here he is strummin' away at his guitar =) oh so good. my heart was melting. props to victor for makin me go to the concert on time.
[Caedmon's Call]
oh man, i love caedmon's call. they were awesome. so, apparently i'm very behind.. cuz bebo norman got married a few months ago?! wow. so yeah. oh man, so Andrew Osenga is their electric guitarist and he just blew me away. his voice was so soothing, and he is SO talented on his guitar. i finally got to see Josh Moore, and yes, he is as talented as everyone says he is. He does try to be funny even tho he's not.. haha i think the other members of the band were trying to get him to shut up. and he walks around a lot aimlessly. i kept watching him and wonderin what he was doing. haha, good man. GOOD STORF!
here's caedmon's call tilted. i liked the lights. woohhh
[Jar's Of Clay]
so i thought i liked caedmons' call better than jars of clay, but i think it changed last nite. THEY WERE SO GOOD. i gotta buy their new cd soon.. the songs that stuck out to me the most were Frail, The Valley Song, Show Your Love, The Lonely People, and The Drummer Boy.
