so with a new semester brings many projects and i've been slaving over a self-portrait project for the past week. it's hard to complete a project that asks so much of you when you're not motivated... but i finally got arount to starting/finishing it. this piece was kind of forced.. i'm not too happy with it but i guess i should share it with all of you. it'd only be fair.. since all of you have been so encouraging. thanks all for appreciating my art and taking an interest in it =)

because it was so hard to complete.. i needed a lot of things to keep me focused and in a good mood so my ipod, goldfish, pepsi and phone kept me company all day =).


here's all my crud everywhere. it was actually a lot worse but i tidied that up a bit cuz i was getting in my roommate's way


ahhh my little buddies through this project

this project was basically comprised of five parts.. each part describing a different part of my personality. they were to be contained within a 7.5" square. i think the hardest part were the black cutouts. they hurt my fingers.. mmm bloody fingers.. and my back is in so much pain after being hunched over on the floor furiously cutting and pasting. here are the four cutouts (the last one was not finished yet at this point.)











oy.. it's going to take too long for me to explain each one so i'm just going to put it out there.. you guys can guess what they each mean.. maybe i'll tell you guys if you are right.. but i'm too lazy right now to explain =P.











so we're making a book in this class and it's going to contain all the works that we are going to do this year.. exciting stuff. =) i really like this class and the teacher is awesome.. i'm actually enjoying ALL my classes this semester. surprise surprise. =)

and to end off on a happy/cute note.. here's isabel and i. let's all give a woot for awesome roommates!
