our next design project is to design LP covers for this popular local hiphop group called "Primeridian"(john has some awesome connections). Each person gets to design their own (front and back of the 12" cover as well as the inside of the LP) based on how they are inspired by the music and the group chooses a few that we design for their singles!

design this year is really getting crazy =) although it's only the first year of the GD program, we are already doing a lot for the champaign community. it's good to see what you learn and what you do being used by/for other people. projects take a long time to do and are sometimes very frustrating, but all in all, it is a lot of fun. a lot of the time, i don't even feel like i'm really doing WORK at all. really looking forward to the end of this semester.. by then we'll have about 12 huge projects finished with some mini-excercises between all of'm and a cloth hand-bound book containing everything we've done! so exciting.. =)

John Jennings (my design teacher. he is awesome. coming out w/his own comic book. check him out) tells me that my face is really animated and he can always tell what i'm thinking or how i'm feeling... i don't know how he does it, but he's always right! so today we were sitting in studio sketching designs for the LP and he comes up to me and goes "are you okay? you looked so stressed out. this is hard isn't it, interpreting music?" and my response... haha: "i'm trying to remember what's on oprah today.. i dont' know if celine dion is going to be on today or tomrorow.." hahaha, got a good laugh out of him, but it's true! oprah is my homegirl! =) hehehe.. ahh.. "i thought oprah by herself was bad enough.. but with celine dion?!.. oh boy.." teehee
